Getting Started
FieldNotes is the player development platform for your team. Use it to build your roster, write weekly feedback, track stats, and share film with your athletes and their families.
01
Logging In
- 1Go to fieldnotes.top9.app and select your team — or navigate directly to your team URL (e.g. fieldnotes.top9.app/bombers).
- 2Tap Coach Login.
- 3Enter your coach password.
- 4You’re in. Sessions stay active for 8 hours.
02
Your Roster
After logging in you’ll land on your Roster dashboard. Each player card shows their photo or initials, jersey number, pitcher badge (if applicable), and the date of their most recent FieldNote entry.
Tap any card to open that player’s full profile.
03
Adding a Player
Before a player can receive FieldNotes or their family can register, they need to be on your roster.
- 1From the Roster, tap Add Player (top right).
- 2Fill in their Name and Jersey Number. Toggle Pitcher on if applicable.
- 3Tap Save — the player appears on your roster immediately.
04
Sharing with Families
Share your team’s Join Team code with your players and families. Each person — player, parent, guardian — registers separately using the same code and gets their own personal PIN.
What families do
- 1Go to your team’s join link — fieldnotes.top9.app/[team]/join — or give them the direct link from your dashboard.
- 2Enter the Join Team code.
- 3Enter the player’s jersey number.
- 4Enter their first name as their label — Mom, Dad, or a nickname works too.
- 5Set a personal 4–6 digit PIN.
- 6Done — they now have access to FieldNotes, stats, Film Room, and DugoutChatter.
05
Writing FieldNotes
FieldNotes are short, direct development feedback written for each player. They’re visible to the player and their family the moment you save.
- 1Open a player’s profile.
- 2Tap New FieldNote.
- 3Choose a note type: Game Notes, Practice Notes, Hitting Notes, Fielding Notes, Pitching Notes, Mental Notes, or Teammate Notes.
- 4Write your note. Optionally log stats for the week.
- 5Tap Save.
06
Film Room
The Film Room lets you attach video resources directly to a player’s profile — drill videos, game film, technique clips. Any public link works.
- 1Open a player’s profile and go to the Film Room tab.
- 2Tap Add Resource.
- 3Paste a video URL — YouTube, Hudl, Vimeo, Twitter/X all work.
- 4Add a title and optional coaching note.
- 5Tap Save — it appears in the player’s Film Room immediately.
07
Managing Players
Editing a player
Open the player → tap Edit Player to update their name, number, or pitcher status.
Managing family members
From the Edit Player page you can see everyone registered for that player’s account. Add members manually (helpful if a parent needs assistance) or remove access if needed.
